Terms of Service

Effective October 10, 2026. Publisher: 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, United States. Contact: [email protected].

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“terms”) are an agreement between you and 24World Media (“the publisher”, “we”) governing your use of Newsmanship (“the site”), including all reporting, explainers, video pages, tools and services offered through it. By accessing or using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. Where a separate written agreement exists between you and the publisher (for example, an advertising booking), that agreement governs in case of conflict for the matters it covers.

2. What the site is

Newsmanship is a digital news publication. The site publishes original reporting and analysis for general information and education. Nothing on the site is financial, investment, medical, legal or other professional advice, and the Disclaimer page forms part of these terms. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time. We aim for accuracy at publication; journalism is a record of the best available facts at a stated time, and our Corrections policy governs how that record is maintained and amended.

3. Intellectual property

All original content on the site, including articles, headlines, page design, logos, brand marks and original graphics, is owned by the publisher or used under licence and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. You may read, share links to, quote briefly with attribution for commentary, and print or save individual stories for personal, non-commercial use. You may not, without prior written permission: republish stories or substantial parts of them; scrape, harvest or systematically copy the site or its feeds for republication, commercial use or model training; translate content for republication; remove copyright, licence or credit notices; or use our brand marks in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation. Photography credited to public archives such as Wikimedia Commons remains under its stated licence, which continues to apply to your use. Video embedded from official source channels remains the property of those channels and is subject to their terms.

4. Your submissions

Material you send us (tips, documents, comments submitted through forms, correspondence) remains your property where it was yours to begin with. By sending it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it for newsgathering and publication: to read, verify, quote, excerpt and publish it as part of our journalism, with the source terms you set respected as described in the Privacy Policy. You promise that what you send is yours to send, does not violate any law or third-party right, and is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Sending material does not create an employment, agency or payment relationship, and does not guarantee publication.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the site unlawfully or to harm, harass or defame any person; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or other readers’ communications; interfere with the site’s operation, security or availability, including by automated abuse, excessive scraping that degrades service, malware or denial-of-service activity; attempt to identify a confidential source; impersonate the publisher, its staff or any other person; use the site to send unsolicited commercial messages; or use content from the site to train, build or promote a service that republishes news without licence. We may suspend or block access that breaches this section, and we may report unlawful conduct to authorities.

6. No reader accounts

The site offers no public registration, and registration is closed. Any page, message or third party offering to create a Newsmanship reader account, sell access or collect your password on our behalf is not authorised by us. Never enter credentials obtained for another service into a page claiming to be ours.

7. Third-party links, embeds and services

Our reporting links to third-party sources and embeds official video and similar material. Those destinations have their own terms and privacy practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for. A link or embed is a citation or a presentation of source material, not an endorsement of a third party’s products, services or opinions. Services that help operate the site (hosting, security, delivery) process data as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Advertising

Advertising appearing on the site is the responsibility of the advertiser. Placement does not constitute endorsement by the publisher of any product, service or claim, and editorial staff do not review advertising as journalism. We may label advertising as required by law or platform standards.

9. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Journalism involves deadlines and developing facts; while we verify before publication and correct openly afterward, we do not warrant that every item is complete or current at the moment you read it. Always check the story’s publication and update indications, and consult qualified professionals for decisions affecting money, health, safety or legal rights.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the publisher, its owners, its desks and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the site, even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid the publisher to use the site in the twelve months before the claim, which for ordinary readers is zero. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the publisher against claims, damages, losses and reasonable expenses arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site or material you submit that violates law or third-party rights.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes arising under these terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Illinois, unless a law in your place of residence gives you a non-waivable right to bring proceedings elsewhere. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force, and the unenforceable provision is read as narrowly as needed to make it enforceable.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site and the law change. The effective date at the top of this page changes with each update, and continuing to use the site after an update constitutes acceptance where the law permits. Material changes affecting business customers are confirmed in writing within their existing agreements where those agreements require it.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms: 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, United States, or [email protected]. These terms, the Privacy Policy, the Disclaimer and the Code of Ethics together describe the rules this publication works under; in case of conflict among them on reader data, the Privacy Policy governs.

15. Reader responsibilities and community standards

Where the site offers interactive features in the future (comments, letters, polls), participation is a privilege governed by standards we publish with the feature: be accurate where you assert fact, be civil where you disagree, and do not post material that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing or dangerous. We may moderate, remove or close participation that breaks those standards, and moderation decisions are ours. Submission of a letter or comment grants us the licence described in section 4 for that material.

16. Availability and changes to the publication

We work to keep the site available around the clock, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, hosting failures, attacks and events beyond our control may interrupt service, and we are not liable for losses caused by unavailability of a free news service. Sections, formats and features may change as the publication develops; stories already published remain governed by the corrections and archiving commitments in force when they were published, and material legal changes are reflected in the effective dates of the relevant pages.

17. Entire agreement and severability

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Disclaimer, the Corrections policy and the Code of Ethics as they apply to you, are the entire agreement between you and the publisher about your use of the site and replace any earlier understandings about that use. If a court holds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest continues to bind both parties, and the unenforceable part is applied as narrowly as the court allows. Our failure to enforce a provision once is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights under these terms; the publisher may assign them in connection with a sale or reorganisation of the publication, with the Privacy Policy’s commitments travelling with reader data in any such assignment.

18. Jurisdiction-specific terms

Nothing in these terms removes rights that consumer, privacy or other law in your place of residence gives you and does not allow you to waive. Where a provision of these terms conflicts with such a non-waivable right, the right prevails for readers in that jurisdiction and the provision is read down only to the extent of the conflict. Business users accept the Illinois governing-law and venue provisions in section 12 as part of the consideration for use of the site’s services.
